Curriculum
Luca De Cicco is an Associate Professor of Automatica since February 2021. He graduated in Computer Science Engineering in 2003 with honors. He received the Ph.D. in Information Engineering in July 2008 from Politecnico di Bari (advisor Prof. Saverio Mascolo). His main interests range from mobile robotics, reinforcement learning, learning-based Automated Insulin Delivery, modeling and design of congestion control algorithms for multimedia transport to adaptive live video streaming. Since 2017 he serves as Associate Editor for Internet Technology Letters (Wiley).
He has covered several visiting researcher positions: at University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, NM, USA) and at L2S (Laboratoire des signaux et systèmes) École Supérieure d'Électricité (Supelec), Gif-sur-Yvette (Paris), France; at the Laboratory of Information, Networking and Communication Sciences (LINCS) in 2013 and 2014. He has been post-doc at Telecom SudParis in 2015 working at the RST department.
He is a member of the Academic Senate of Politecnico di Bari since 2021.
He has been the General Chair of the ACM Multimedia Systems international conference in 2024.
He has been recipient of several awards: ACM MMSys 2016 best student paper, ACM SIGCOMM Internet-QoE Workshop 2016 best paper, ACM MMSys 2024 best ODS paper, ACM MMSys 2025 best demo paper, EuroXR 2025 best poster.
